Therapeutic Riding

At Hearts & Horses, therapeutic riding harnesses the natural movement and intuition of the horse to support physical, emotional, and personal growth.

Riding

Lessons

With a trusted herd of lesson horses and experienced instructors, our program supports both English and Western riding, helping riders grow confidence, strength, and horsemanship

Boarding & Training

We provide exceptional stabling, horse care, boarding, training, and leasing in a safe, comfortable environment that makes Hearts & Horses a trusted choice for boarding your horse or supporting training in southern Maine.

Events & Community

From summer camps and clinics to community events and our annual Bands Behind the Barn fundraiser, Hearts & Horses brings people together through horses while supporting our therapeutic riding mission.

Horsemanship Day Camp

Ages 8–12
Round 1: July 13 – July 16, 2026
Round 2:  August 3 – August 6, 2026
Limited to 10 campers per session

Cost: $500 per week/per camper

Horsemanship Children's Camp is a deeper dive into riding and horse care, both on and off the horse. Campers build riding skills, learn about horse health and safety, explore stable management, and participate in group games and challenges. Activities may include trail rides, horse bathing, painting, vaulting, blacksmithing demonstrations, and equine dental education—all designed to spark curiosity, teamwork, and confidence.

Half Pint Day Camp

Ages 4–8
Dates: June 29 – July 2, 2026

Cost: $500 per week/per camper

Our Half Pint Children's Camp is the perfect introduction to horses for younger campers. Children learn the basics of caring for and respecting horses while becoming comfortable around them in a fun, playful setting. Campers are introduced to grooming, tacking, and beginner riding skills, along with barn chores, arts and crafts, games, and creative activities that build confidence and curiosity.
